Position Purpose

Under administrative direction, the incumbent supervises the daily operations of the Distribution Center to ensure all processes are complete and all standards are met. Incumbent plans, organizes and directs the daily functions for their area of control

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Floor Supervision - 75%

  • Monitor daily work volume and ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet quality and productivity standards.

  • Train new associates.

  • Open/close facility.

  • Ensure inventory integrity and security by closely adhering to established policy’s and procedures concerning inventory control established by upper management.

  • Ensure shipping and operating supplies are at appropriate levels to support the business. Order as needed.

  • Conduct package checks to ensure packers are trained properly and packages comply with quality standards as well as the cost effective use of materials.

  • Resolve customer problems. Reporting - 10%

  • Record and report on associate productivity and quality metrics.

  • Analyze night work and daily reports for discrepancies and trends.

  • Staffing & Supervision - 10%

  • Participates in the interviewing and selection of new associates.

  • Using established corrective action procedures, counsels associates for poor performance or violations of policy or procedure.

  • Provides termination recommendations to higher authority when appropriate.

  • Writes and conducts associate performance reviews.

  • Motivates team to achieve goals.

  • Identifies and develops new procedures.

  • Conduct morning planning meeting with associates. Other Duties - 5%

  • Maintain a clean neat and orderly work environment.

  • Assumes other tasks as requested by upper management.

  • Available to perform any Warehouse job function as the need arises. Environmental Job Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; extreme heat; outdoor weather conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older

  • Must pass the Drug Test

  • Must pass the Background Check

  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable Education Required - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED. Years of Relevant Work Experience - 2 Physical Job Requirements Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds). Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the logistics industry and distribution in a pick and pack environment preferred

  • Knowledge of fair employment practices preferred

  • M-F, 3AM -Noon; Candidate must be willing to work all shifts in 24/7 operation

  • Prefer 5 yrs experience with distribution systems (shipping, verifying orders and preparing orders to ship), including Sit-down Forklift, Reach and Cherry Picker

  • Must have demonstrated supervisory skills, personnel evaluation and disciplinary action.

  • Must be computer literate. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

  • Demonstrated leadership and analytical problem solving skills.

  • Ability to supervise, develop and motivate a team of employees toward the completion of strategic or department goals in a fast paced production like environment.

  • Proven communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal.

  • Complete knowledge of MW policies, procedures and standards.

  • System skills to include PC desktop applications( Word & Excel) Oracle Data Browser and proprietary operating system.

  • Ability to successfully complete assignments on time.
