Home Depot IB AR SUPERVISOR in Jacksonville, Florida

POSITION PURPOSE

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor position encompasses various functions. The supervisor demonstrates a sense of urgency and good judgment to oversee the protection of the company's accounts receivable assets while enforcing established guidelines. The position's purpose is also to ensure service level agreements for assigned workloads are met, and to identify risks and red flags, while providing excellent customer service and supporting the sales function. The Supervisor is responsible for effectively leading, staffing, coaching, training, process improvement, time-keeping, performance evaluation, scheduling, reporting, and other projects as directed by management.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 50%- Performs supervisory tasks including but not limited to: coaching, mentoring, time-keeping efforts, reporting and analysis, workload distribution, new candidate interviewing, performance evaluations, ensuring deadlines and cut-off times are met, and training

  • 20%- Interact directly with external and internal customers. Appropriately escalates issues and engages parties to facilitate resolution.

  • 10%- Serves as subject matter expert on company/department projects and any other tasks assigned by management team

  • 10%- Reviews processes for improvement, provides suggestions and feedback to management as necessary

  • 10%- Perform any related department tasks when short staffed or during high-volume times

NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to the AR Manager or Director.

This position has 4+ direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

ENVIRONMENT:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

TRAVEL:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 4 years

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in credit, collections, cash application, and/or customer service

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and web-based applications

  • Adept in communicating tactfully and professionally

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Cash Application/Lockbox processes in a B2B environment

  • Proficiency with systems: Unisys (ISS), RS6000 (ERP), High Radius or cash application software, SAP, Billtrust, Get Paid/FIS products

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to produce informative reporting

  • Previous leadership experience in a professional environment and proficiency in associate development, motivating and team building

  • Intermediate Excel knowledge including pivot tables and vlookups

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively while exercising good judgement and making decisions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Proven understanding of accounting concepts such as: debits/credits, account reconciliation, collections efforts, credit line establishment, cash application etc.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Developed negotiation skills

  • Ability to lead and motivate others

  • Time management skills

  • Quickly identify and solve problems

  • Ability to diffuse escalated customer conversations

  • Ability to enforce accountability standards
