The Design Center is a spectacular new interactive showroom experience. Our showroom, unlike any other with endless inspiration everywhere you look, thanks to our 30+ interactive kitchen, bath, and laundry rooms. Customers will explore hundreds of products from the most innovative brands in appliances, cabinetry, fixtures and more.

The Design Center Plumber/Gas Fitter/Appliance Installer will be responsible for installation activities in a customer’s home as they relate to plumbing and gas hookups for appliances that were purchased by the customer at the HDDC. This role will be required maintain a plumbing/gas fitter license and to keep their licensing current while employed with the company. The Plumber/Gas Fitter/Appliance Installer will ensure a customer’s selected appliance is installed to manufacturer and local code specifications and may be called upon to assist in general appliance install activities as needed. This role will be required to offer a high level of professionalism and will need to communicate clearly with customers in their homes. The Plumber/Gas Fitter/Appliance Installer must be able to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of precision. This role will require problem solving and strong communication and follow-up skills and is responsible for ensuring clients receive the highest level of customer satisfaction possible. Following Home Depot’s safety policies and procedures are critical to performing the duties of the HDDC Plumber/Gas Fitter/Appliance Installer. Each associate has the responsibility of providing a safe working environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the HDDC management team and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers.


Reports to the Appliance Installation Manager

This position has no direct reports



Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.


Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements:

Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving merchandise

Moving around the facilities


Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Must have a valid plumbing/gas fitter license

Must have clear MVR

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2 years

Physical Requirements:

Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
