Home Depot Senior UX Product Designer in Austin, Texas
As a Sr. UX Product Designer at BlackLocus - Home Depot you will balance creative and innovative solutions with solid leadership and mentoring skills. You will work with the team to successfully translate business objectives and customer needs into innovative and best-in-class, customer-centric solutions. You will own the customer experience for a product or group of smaller products.
You are responsible for delivering the vision, experience and creative strategy for your respective projects and products. To do this, you will need to build strong relationships with product management peers, development, and other critical partners to establish and deliver on the business and customer requirements that enhance our digital experiences and products, meets the business goals and strengthens our Home Depot differentiation strategies. You would do this through research, competitive analysis, design sprints, lean UX, formal in-person testing and interviews with customers and associates.
An ideal candidate will have a portfolio of artifacts showing their understanding of the UX process. Design is a process of research, learning, testing and iteration and you can show how that leads to a final deliverable. You are highly collaborative; leaning on your team and peers for constructive feedback and not afraid to share your feedback. You bring a design thinking mentality and passion for doing the right thing for the user to solve their problems and ease their friction points. You want to own the experience and bring your knowledge and experience to building the next Home Depot.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
60%- Creating product prototypes, mockups, site maps, process flows, journey maps
10%- Analyzing user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience
10%- Consulting with stakeholders to understand their goals and explaining research results
20%- Consulting with development teams
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to the Director of Product Management BL.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
Mastery of all the latest design tools, and versions of applicable software programs: Mac OSX, Sketch (or similar), Photoshop, Illustrator.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Previous project experience in a retail environment or advertising agency
Demonstrated user experience design skills with expert knowledge of current design programs
Understanding of browser display differences on different platforms
Demonstrated experience in designing creative and web pages for e-commerce websites
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: Ability to concept, present and execute. Act as an exemplary representative of the online experience team in its dealings with internal clients and external vendors with the ability to interact comfortably with senior leadership.
Provide strong client management skills with flawless follow-up.
Provide creative solutions consistent with industry trends, demonstrating ability to problem-solve, organize and project manage.
Ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand designs and visual elements.
Proven ability working in fast-paced environment with shifting priorities while managing tactical deliverables and meeting deadlines.
Ability to maintain strong rapport with teammates, and stakeholders from multiple business groups.
