Home Depot Technical Compliance Coordinator in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

The Technical Regulatory & Compliance Coordinator (TRCC) will be responsible for regulatory and compliance program for Product Engineering. This role will work with product engineers and internal key stakeholders to ensure all compliance functions are completed and compliant with applicable federal and state regulatory requirements in conjunction with The Home Depot policy and procedures. The TRCC will have no direct reports.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) for regulatory change notifications.

  • Plans and executes compliance projects.

  • Test report auditing for compliance

  • Will ensure that all Complaint/Event Handling procedures are well defined & being followed.

  • Responsible for product compliance registrations.

  • Conduct investigations and initiate identified Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPAs) resulting from Non-Conformance and/or Complaint investigations. Contact appropriate stakeholders to obtain information needed to aid in the investigation. Push required notifications within the established regulatory requirements. Support timely closure of all Complaints/Events.

  • Collaborate with Service Providers (SP) to develop, harmonize and approve test protocols across all impacted products.

Typically reports to Technical Compliance Manager

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel: Domestic and travel about 5% of the time. International travel about 5% of the time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

Possess at least High School diploma or equivalent

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3+ years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management

  • Technical writing

  • Models and ensures all program norms are upheld without compromise

  • Technical laboratory and/or OEM factory production process familiarity

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Technical Compliance requirements for “Importer of Record” products sold in USA.

  • Familiarity with government agencies and retail product requirements such as CFRs, UL, DOE, CEC, NSF, EPA

  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing

  • Data analysis and reporting

  • Basic understanding of supplier corrective action Plans (CAPA)

  • Can use, review and improve DFMEA/PFMEA and control plans

  • Ability to work in cross-functional team environment

  • Business acumen and understanding of Merchandising

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
