Home Depot Sr. Manager, Digital Channels -  Portals & Subsites in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

The Sr. Manager of Digital Channels – Portals & Subsites will assist the Director of Digital Channels & Communications Technology with ensuring content management standards, improving information architecture, optimizing search, administering systems and reporting on user interactions within various associate and customer-facing sites, including the Company intranet, online newsletters and our corporate site. The Sr. Manager of Digital Channels – Portals & Subsites collaborates with business partners and IT to deliver tailored content experiences that meet the needs of our 400K associates while ensuring site consistency and a robust user experience. The incumbent will also be responsible for leading the charge in continuous site improvements, keeping pace with industry standards, reviewing reporting to ensure content usage and assisting with issue resolution to drive business improvement.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Portal administration, governance, development and design

  • Online collaboration tool design, administration and program management

  • Management of web communications team and projects

  • Develop and report sustained metrics to assess ongoing effectiveness of vehicles

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • Reports to Director – Digital Channels & Communications Technology

  • Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues-including selection, termination, performance appraisal, mentoring and professional development of subordinates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in a related field

  • Proven leadership experience leading a team of 4 or more

  • Proven experience leading enterprise-level technology projects

  • Experience with intranets and web design strongly preferred

  • Experience with SharePoint or similar content management platforms preferred

  • Experience in Google Analytics or Omniture preferred

  • Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities that include leading and managing through change, as well as setting vision and strategy for web communications.

  • Experience with Web technologies and driving successful communications through new technology.

  • Has demonstrated ability to work independently, lead teams, spearhead and complete projects and major initiatives.

  • Project management and negotiation skills necessary to achieve desired goals.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to build support and inclusion.

  • Customer service focus.
