Home Depot Sr. Manager, Business Development- Crown Bolt in Atlanta, Georgia
The Sr Manager of Business Development is responsible for the development of new products, category management and expansion to drive growth. Accountable to meet specific growth targets and drive the overall sales strategy within entire fastener categories.
Analyzes a wide variety of strategic variables that span the breadth of the organization from growth strategies to realization of full-potential opportunities in the core business.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
20% - Maintains a strategic fact base (market, competitors, trends, etc) that shapes decision-making with respect to products and categories. Interact with the Senior Leadership Team to refine the company s strategy and to execute special strategic projects.
20% - Serves as the internal and external advocate for new product offerings. Work with Sales & Marketing to develop annual strategies and priorities for testing & evaluation of new programs/categories.
20% - Project management of new products and category expansion from conception to the approval stage. Develops financial and market analysis as to scope and feasibility of new program concepts. Coordinates consumer analysis as needed.
20% - Builds and maintains close relationships with Merchants to drive business and help manage categories.
20% - Conducts ad hoc analysis and provides recommendations on a wide variety of strategic business decisions important to the leadership team.

This position reports to CB Business Development Director.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel: Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
MBA highly preferred
3-5 yrs experience with new product development and introduction
5-10 yrs retail experience
Experience and demonstrated strength in strategic business development, acquisitions and negotiations
Experience in the application of research findings to the retail environment, brand management,or category management
Knowledge and understanding of market trends, merchandising, display development and management, and program profitability analysis
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specialized with Excel
Preferred experience working with The Home Depot, in particularly sales
