Home Depot Sr. Financial Analyst - Developer in Atlanta, Georgia


The Finance Innovation and Transformation (FIT) team is part of the Corporate Controller’s group (CCG) maintain integrated competency centers that help drive value realization. FIT helps finance leaders transform the finance function by moving away from traditional, highly manual transactional processes in a backward-looking function to a predictive and proactive mindset powered by intelligent insights and automation. FIT includes the following competency centers: Project Management Office, Product Management, Business Process Outsourcing, Process Optimization, Data Analytics, and Automation COE. FIT serves the Controller’s group as the digital hub and works cross-functionally with business partners in Finance and through-out Home Depot to support the company’s strategic objectives.

This position will reside within the FIT Automation COE and will maintain several advanced, business-facing Microsoft Access applications and scheduled VBA batch jobs. These will require an advanced understanding of VBA procedures and SQL.

To assist with the Finance Transformation, this position will develop new automated solutions replacing the highly manual transactional processes performed today. These new solutions may include Uipath Robotic Process Automations, BPM tools (Zendesk or Service Now), and Google Big Query.


  • 25% Oversee the administration of financial policies.

  • 25% Conducts special financial studies and coordinates with other departments in the preparation of statistical studies.

  • 25% Performs internal and external economic research and analyzes issues related to specific financial metrics to ensure competitiveness

  • 5% Compiles or prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed.

  • 10% Recommends changes in financial analysis methods or procedures.

  • 10% Assists and supervises Financial Analysts in the daily preparation and conduct of their work.


  • This position typically reports to a Director or Sr Director

Additional Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Access, VBA Scripting, SQL Development required

  • At least 2 to 4 years of professional experience in programming (including scripting /coding), SQL and relational databases, and application development

  • Proficient in designing and developing database tools and reporting/metric resources (e.g. dashboards) to drive efficiency

  • Prior experience with RPA (UiPath), Google Big Query, BPM tools (Zendesk, ServiceNow), SAP, Alteryx, Tableau, or Winshuttle preferred

  • Prior work in or supporting Accounts Payable, Accounting, or Controls teams a plus

  • Strong Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills
