Home Depot Senior HR Services Business Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

The Sr. HR Service Business Analyst leads initiatives related to HRIS solutions; specifically, payroll, workforce management, time & attendance and tax compliance. The primary purpose of the Sr. Analyst is to ensure accurate data modeling within our HRIS solutions that support business policies and procedures. Such initiatives include process engineering, quality assurance testing and data auditing of payroll inputs and outputs. The payroll audit functions are critical to the department to ensure accuracy, reduce errors and eliminate over/under payments. Reviews payments for compliance and works with internal and external auditors to report any issues. The role is also responsible for projects that can include: process improvements, system upgrades, root cause analysis for the department and company, auditing pre and post payroll data to ensure accuracy, working with internal and external auditors, analyze data to identify areas of improvements through root cause analysis, lead team through user acceptance and parallel testing, create test scenarios and scripts, maintain strong relationships with product management, development and other critical partners across all phases and lifecycles of product development and changes.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 10% Organize and lead current and to be business processes using business and systems expertise, and accepted procedures and methodologies

  • 20% Document business requirements and work with both IT and business partners on appropriate design decisions

  • 10% Participate in appropriate steps within the solution development lifecycle to ensure functional requirements are met and meetings are facilitated with functional SMEs, peers, management, and other key stakeholders

  • 20% Lead end to end implementation planning to include change management, training and support

  • 10% Facilitate aspects of individual projects to include work plans, issues resolution, and status reports

  • 10% Prepare, develop or configure programs and processes typically of moderate to high complexity

  • 10% Participate in and perform appropriate quality assurance testing

  • 10% Lead, coach and develop HRS Business Analyst and HRS Specialist as needed to accomplish business goals

NATURE AND SCOPE

Typically reports to Manager HR Services or Sr. Manager HR Services

No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 4 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Consistently demonstrating effective management of shifting priorities and accountability of meeting deadlines

  • Forward thinker with a passion for continuous process improvements and timeliness of solution delivery

  • Solid proficiency with Excel (Pivot tables and V-Lookup), Access (creating databases to review large amounts of data) and/or SQL queries, Visio (Creating process flows)

  • Strong payroll and project planning knowledge (Lead projects across organization)

  • Workday experience

  • Kronos experience

  • CIC plus experience (Desired)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Project management experience

  • Solid communications and interpersonal skills; ability to develop effective business relationships and build consensus

  • Knowledge of HR processes and supporting systems

  • Understanding of application development methodology

  • Sound business judgment, analytical skills and ability to effectively manage issues and risks

  • Effective consulting and facilitation skills
