Home Depot Regional Manager Finance in Atlanta, Georgia

Regional Manager Finance provides total financial leadership, direction and analysis to the regional leadership teams. The Regional Manager Finance plays a key role in driving region performance, controlling costs, and working closely with the Division Finance Leader and Regional Vice Presidents in order to achieve business goals and create shareholder value.


  • Regional Financial Leadership: Provide perspective on divisional / regional strategic initiatives / special projects; identify performance opportunities across regions

  • Ad hoc Analytics / Initiatives: Conduct root cause analytics on under performance (sales and expenses); drive executive reporting and analytics, market analysis, and sales trends with a focus on deaveraging

  • Financial Management: Day to day “blocking and tackling” including questions from field partners and divisional team members; oversight for P&L performance, divisional/regional capital and G&A management

  • Financial Business Reviews: Development and reporting out on reoccurring business reviews for each supported region; review sales and expenses on a regular basis with an expectation that actions / solutions are created to drive profitability

  • Planning / Forecasting: Build store level sales, payroll, markdown, margin, inventory and expense plan; forecast sales and transactions for respective regions

  • Training / Development: Ensure professional development by seeking new out relevant training


Typically reports to a Director level

This position has no direct reports.



Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with working with executive level associates & influencing to drive financial results

  • Thought leadership & business partnership across a variety of different functions

  • Retail/operational experience with a focus on driving scalable standardized solutions

  • Self-starter orientation with a strong prioritization skills

  • Knowledge of THD systems, specifically SAP; Khalix (expense and sales); Business Warehouse (BW); Tableau; Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Powerpoint); OLAP

  • Superior oral and written communication, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to influence others; strong leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation, including financial modeling skills.

  • Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data.

  • Judgment and decision-making skills, including considering relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
