Home Depot Merchandise Planner Analyst - Home Services in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

This position works with the Home Services merchant team to execute the merchandising strategy for Home Depot Exteriors business. The Merchandise Analyst will assist in driving sales, optimizing assortments, and generating profit. The role serves as the merchant’s primary support for setting up and maintaining assortments through data management, responding to field associates and vendors, and providing analytical support to help the Merchant achieve their sales and profit plans. The role is also charged with working with cross-functional groups to gain insight on sales and market trends and issues that would have an impact on the business.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

20% - Works directly with Program Merchants to develop systems and processes to deliver accurate retail pricing, ensuring program gross margin objectives are met.

20% - Manages the retail price models and all outputs including pricing worksheets and labor bills.

Evaluation and continual improvement of pricing models to improve accuracy and program profitability.

Continual process improvement for managing cost changes on labor and materials

15% - Manages the retail price shop process to ensure we are priced in the marketplace consistent with our strategy.

15% - Manages the program purchase order models including purchase order outputs and methodology to improve accuracy and ease of use by the branches.

10% - Develop and manage a Distributor Quote Management” process to control material costs purchased from third-party distributors, Including periodic shops of marketplace.

20% - Conduct detailed pricing and gross margin variance analysis by product by market. Conduct other ad hoc financial analysis to support program management.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1 year

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and adapt accordingly

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, macros)
