Home Depot Manager Private Brands, Finance in Atlanta, Georgia


The Manager of Private Brand Finance provides financial direction and analysis to the Global Brands and Product Development (GBPD) team by driving functional financial metrics, controlling costs, and working closely with GBPD leadership in order to achieve goals and add shareholder value for The Home Depot's growing Private Brands business. This person will be the key driver of the Financial Planning Process and ensuring execution of GBPD strategy. The manager of Private Brands Finance will have exposure across Merchandising, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Brand Marketing, and P&L Management. This individual will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally across all Private Brands and Global Sourcing disciplines


  • Provide thought leadership support to the business, including those at the VP level and above.

  • Execute and guide GBPD’s various strategic initiatives to ensure successful growth, requiring cross-functional partnership across key facets of the organization.

  • Conducts financial planning, analysis, and forecasting for the functional area.

  • Manage and own G&A and Expense Budgets for GBPD.

  • Identify process improvements across team or department to drive out unproductive resources. Responsible for appropriate selection, performance management and professional development of assigned staff.


  • Typically reports to the Sr. Manager, Private Brands Finance. Accountable for the management of a functional group and for all personnel issues - including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

  • Typically reports out to senior leadership on a recurring basis.

  • Typically faced with strategic questions that require unstructured and original approaches.

  • Typically requires highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations as well as dealing with multiple business partners.



Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience : 5 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:


Financial planning and analysis experience

Knowledge of financial systems and databases

Experience leading teams and motivating associates under tight timelines

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Knowledge of Finance and Accounting Principles and Practices.

Business Planning/Strategy Setting experience.

Budgeting, Financial Planning and Financial Modeling skills. Knowledge of International Business and Finance.

Ability to interact with all levels of associates and leadership.

Exposure to SQL, or other database languages, a plus but not necessary.

Exposure to Retail Merchandising, Supply Chain, Sourcing would be a plus but necessary.

Strong analytical background.

Oral and written communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple work streams and meet critical deadlines.

Ability to influence across departments and cross-functionally.

Ability to turn detailed data analysis into PowerPoint form that tells a clear, concise, and succinct story for senior leadership consumption.
