Home Depot Manager, Packaging Design in Atlanta, Georgia
The Manager, Packaging Design position will lead a team of creative agency partners that will be resonsible for the design direction and execution of all private label packaging across The Home Depot enterprise. Responsibilities include initiating, planning, executing and controlling packaging design projects to deliver departmental strategic objectives. Major tasks in this assignment include development of creative development processes, project management of seasonal programs and consistent interpretation of brand creative direction across multiple brands. This position will also be responsible for coordinating timelines for project deliverables across numerous Merhcants at the same time. Communication, prioritization and organization are key skills needed to accomplish this multi-tasking position. As a member of the Brand Development team, this position is also crucial to the integrity of delivering the brand's promise and customer experience through packaging design and copy. The Manager, Packaging Design will report to the Sr Manager, Brand Development.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
50% Manage a team of in-house packaging designers effectively; including some hands-on design development and execution
40% Partner with Sr. Manager, Packaging and key stakeholders to lead design direction, project management and execution of Private Brand packaging design – including attending project briefings, store walks and occasional vendor meetings.
10% Consistently benchmark brand creative vs. competitors to ensure creative treatments represent current brand positioning

This position reports to the Sr Manager, Packaging
This role will manage up to 2 direct Packaging Designer reports
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Prior experience in creative packaging design development and packaging project management
Knowledge of packaging design agency structure
Must be proficient in MAC operating systems, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In-Design, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat.
Working knowledge use of Microsoft Office Suite–Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Portfolio Submission Requirements:
Submit 8 page packaging design portfolio PDF showcasing a diverse range of packaging creative work across retail and/or consumer goods packaging. Provide brief explanation of the work developed, led or managed as well as listing inhouse, agency or self-designed. Provide link if additional work is available through online portfolio.
