Home Depot Manager Operations Process- Safety Data and Analytics in Atlanta, Georgia


The Analytics Manager is expected to partner with operational leaders and stakeholders to conceptualize business issues and translate into an appropriate analytic format. The role will analyze large data sets to isolate trend and business opportunities, conduct advanced modeling and build solutions and recommendations to drive performance improvement for Environmental Health and Safety. The Analytics Manager will also be responsible for developing and delivering effective, interactive presentations and reporting solutions for operational/front line leaders and associates. This position is also responsible for identifying opportunities and coordinating projects across EH&S. Being a subject matter expert in advance statistical, econometric and quantitative analytical techniques, the Analytics Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing the cohesive collaboration of EH&S across the enterprise. This position will report directly to the Director of EH&S and will also be responsible for setting strategic guidelines and scoping analytical projects for the team. The role ensures a smooth execution of projects and that all key milestones are met.


Analyze the fundamental components of problems and communicate the correct course of action to the team and the resolution to the field.

Develop and implement changes that improve overall store operations processes that are likely to add value to the stores' bottom line. Manage/drive core store operations projects and/or process improvements.

Manage day to day processes related to their areas of responsibility. Create and maintain project work plans.

Manage issues and roadblocks that arise related to their area of responsibility.

Respond proactively to unanticipated store needs arising out of a variety of inputs. Manage action steps necessary for successful execution of both strategic projects/initiatives and process improvement.

Communicate effectively and build strong, effective partnerships with the field/stores and throughout The Home Depot.

Prepare and deliver high-level insights and recommendations based on multiple analyses of industry/ business, competitive landscape, consumer data for area of expertise.

Provide guidance and training specific to area of expertise. Assist in collaborating findings from data and making verbal/written recommendations. Demonstrate proficiency/understanding of specific processes.

Maintain knowledge base regarding specific operations and processes within store operations

Responsible for appropriate selection, terminations, performance appraisal and professional development of support team (Business Analysts).


Typically reports to Director or Sr. Manager

Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.


Additional Environmental Job Requirements:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

5+ years of work experience is preferred

Ability to work cross-functionally and develop business partner relationships to achieve company goals

Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively. Strong oral and written communication skills

Project management skills that include the ability to create short and long term strategies, including elements needed to execute set expectations

Ability to manage budgets associated with both capital and expense spend

Experience with process improvement and implementation

Prior leadership experience is preferred

Experience with managing either internal or external groups (ex. Vendors, teams, etc.)

Ability to influence others without direct authority. Knowledge in analyzing data trends and reporting

Ability to source and interpret data from a variety of applications

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, and Powerpoint)

Management or experience in operations of a multi-store retail environment

Desire to support and provide excellent customer service to field and internal partners including Regional/Senior Directors and Regional Vice Presidents
