Home Depot Manager, Customer Data Governance in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

The Manager, Customer Data Governance works with cross-functional partners including Business stakeholders, Legal, Internal Audit and IT Security to refine, manage and lead The Home Depot’s Customer Data Governance activities and processes. The governance objectives are to define and centralize standards and business rules customer data, establish and support a cross-functional stewardship model, set guidelines for accessing and using customer information, evaluate and approve/deny access to customer information, and to communicate internally the rules and policies for customer data. The scope of Customer Data Governance will include U.S. and international operations, as well as subsidiary business units.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • 50%- Work with stakeholders to establish, maintain, and socialize customer data standards driving consistency and compliance in data usage while encouraging external advocacy of governance activities.

  • 15%- Partner with Customer Data Management counterparts to drive a cohesive, consistent stakeholder experience and ensure all centralized customer data assets are appropriate.

  • 15%- Work with IT Security to provide ongoing assessment and monitoring of appropriate security measures regarding access and usage of customer information in accordance with The Home Depot’s Privacy and Security Policies.

  • 10% - Support strategic planning for Customer Data Governance and overall Customer Data Strategy through roadmap development and objective planning.

  • 10%- Manage and support resources.

Environmental Job Requirements: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Job Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (such as a Masters or MBA) a plus

  • Experience in data-oriented product management preferred

  • Experience in data governance and strategic practice development a plus

  • Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management with both business and IT partners

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies :

  • Solid project management skills and ability to manage several projects concurrently Exceptional critical thinking and organizational skills

  • Ability to work with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong written and verbal communications and influencing skills

  • Ability to create and facilitate effective PowerPoint presentations
