Home Depot HR Support Systems Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

The HR Support Systems Manager manages and drives support and projects associated with the maintenance, and security of HR systems – including project management, requirements analysis and documentation, and coordination of the user acceptance testing. Manages the entire Systems Support process via Workday modules for HCM, Payroll, Absence, Talent & Compensation, including creating/refining production support strategies, building a team and managing resources to meet deliverables. Partners with IT and the business area to ensure proper prioritization of key work activities. Provides front-line support for incident reporting and coordinates notification to the appropriate teams to drive issue resolution - communicating effectively across all levels of management across the organization. Works closely with Change Management, ensures communication strategy is implemented for all stakeholders with respect to application issues including issue identification, contingency (or appropriate work-around), expected resolution timeframe, and resolution completion. Manages resolution of issues, root cause analysis and ensures recurring issues are resolved permanently. They have functional oversight for all HR systems and are responsible for ensuring that all HR applications are operational with minimal down-time. The manager ensures compliance to documentation standards and that all stakeholders are fully aware of issues, contingencies and resolutions. They must be willing to invest the time to have in-depth knowledge about the HR systems they support and be comfortable discussing change impacts and issues.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages the entire Production Support process, including creating/refining production support strategies, building a team and managing resources to meet deliverables

  • Partners with IT and the business area to ensure proper prioritization of key work activities.

  • Ensures reported incidents are tracked and documented (including scope, resource requirements, and impact)

  • Provides front-line support for incident reporting and coordinates notification to the appropriate teams to drive issue resolution

  • Ensures communication strategy is implemented for all stakeholders with respect to application issues including issue identification, contingency (or appropriate work-around), expected resolution timeframe, and resolution completion

  • Manages resolution of issues, root cause analysis and ensures recurring issues are resolved permanently

  • Ensures break/fix work is appropriately project managed and delivered on-time and on-quality

  • Understands business goals and application requirements

  • Creates and owns the application Disaster Recovery Plan and facilitates an annual test of the plan

  • Interacts with all levels of the IT and business communities, including Senior Management levels

  • Coordinates planned application downtimes with all stakeholders

  • Ensures issue resolution meets the needs of the HR business area

  • Ensures adherence to all relevant payroll, employment, and income tax laws, regulations, and operating guidelines

  • Ensures appropriate payroll and payroll tax compliance to all Federal and State regulations

  • Works at both strategic and tactical levels

  • Coaches, mentors and evaluates team member performance

  • Develops successful team culture, including adherence to departmental processes

  • Creates logical and innovative solutions to complex problems

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 7 years

Physical Requirements:

Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 – 7 years HRIS experience required

  • Managerial/Supervisor experience required

  • Working knowledge of Workday preferred

  • Strong business and process knowledge and a commitment to continuous improvement
