Home Depot Director, Strategic Initiatives in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose

The Director, Strategic Initiatives is responsible for creating a cohesive customer-backed ecosystem utilizing agile marketing practices. This role will work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and execute on short-term and long-term plans, while creating a unified customer experience that showcases Home Depot’s breadth and capabilities.

The role is responsible for growing the Home Depot’s market share. Coordinates all internal functions (IT, Operations, Marketing, merchandising etc.), external vendors (agencies, manufacturers, distributors) to constantly create, launch and manage the customer value proposition.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • 20% Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to fully understand the approach to customer segments. Consolidate efforts into a cohesive end-to-end strategy that showcases the Home Depot’s capabilities to the consumer. Work seamlessly across varying levels and stakeholders to get work done.

  • 20% Leverage data and agile approach to effectively talk to customers. Allocate budget to deliver the highest return.

  • 20% Develop and monitor metrics and performance goals to ensure programs are driving value. Use data to tell a compelling story. Obtain feedback on an ongoing basis to monitor the degree to which programs meet needs and expectations.

  • 20% Review and make recommendations, in partnership with senior leaders, for the expansion or contraction of key activities and identify overlaps across teams to drive a unified customer experience and fully leverage best practices across silos. Prioritize efforts to ensure resources are allocated to the most impactful opportunities first.

  • 10% Works closely with the Business Development team in developing key external partnerships.

  • 10% Coaches and leads marketing strategy and support teams.

Nature and Scope

Reports to Sr Director, Agile Marketing

Minimum Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience - 7 years

Physical Job Requirements

Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

  • Experience developing a strategic roadmap and managing it through successful execution

  • Sales Strategy/Execution: Ability to apply marketing strategies to sales management initiatives

  • Ability to develop, design, conduct and mine research for findings that generate actionable insights to advance the core marketing strategy and further grow the business

  • Ability to create a vision and bring along stakeholders

  • Knowledge of personalized and agile marketing

  • Ability to gather, interpret and apply multiple consumer/industry insights and trends used in the development of marketing strategies and programs
