Home Depot Director, Repair & Liquidation Center in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

Director of Repair and Liquidation Center has overall responsibility for tactical execution, financial, productivity, and quality performance of the RLCs. They are responsible for planning, directing and managing labor, communications, and change management. Works closely with operations support teams such as Asset Protection, Engineering, Systems, and Building Services to collectively develop and execute strategies, initiatives and scheduled maintenance services in order to deliver safe and high performance facilities while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 25% Designs and implements improved process and operational policies for Reverse Logistics operation. Drives continuous cost savings and avoidance through identifying, documenting, and implementing key policies, process improvements, and disciplines.

  • 25% Reviews processes and procedures and initiates activities to streamline process flow and enhance service turnaround time, productivity, and quality. Identifies deficiencies, develops solutions, and implements action steps to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • 50% Leads, motivates, and coaches team. Provides direction in associate development and training, budget management, delegation, project and resources control, teamwork coordination, and project team.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • This position reports to the Sr Dir Rental, Repair and Returns Management.

  • This position is accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 50% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Senior-level operations management experience within a mass/big-box retailer.

  • Ten or more years of experience within the following areas: transportation, distribution, supply chain, store operations, or reverse logistics.

  • A bachelors degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Strong business acumen in operations and process improvement; Knowledge of budgeting and expense control to plan, implement and maximize expenditure of funds while maintaining and improving quality standards

  • Ability to influence, lead and manage direct and indirect groups of associates and internal business partners

  • Highly skilled communicator all levels of the organization

  • Results oriented leader who sets aggressive goals, consistently overachieves against plan, and constantly searches for new opportunities to improve performance
