Home Depot Director Common Services in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

The Director of Common Services will play a key role in driving alignment, execution, accountability and governance related to strategic initiatives. The Director will provides leadership, direction and analysis to the team related to the key initiatives in order to achieve business goals and add shareholder value. This position offers assistance to the HR organization and deployment of strategic projects and is responsible for providing specific operational expertise to all levels of Human Resources. The Director of Common Services is a strategic, proactive thinker who identifies new ideas and makes suggestions to improve current processes. This position partners with senior business leaders to ensure the most effective utilization of human capital needed to maximize business performance and activate and advance business objectives.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 30% - Project Management: Develops, manages and maintains project deliverables as required to support large scale complex projects. Includes but not limited to Project Plans, Communication, Change Management, Risk and Issue Management.

  • 20% - Product Management: Oversees the entire product line lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.

  • 20% - Change Management: Lead the organization in identifying gaps, opportunities, and strategic improvements of the execution of core HR processes to drive consistency and alignment across business groups. Develop, plan, design, and implement communication and delivery of HR initiatives to support current and future business needs.

  • 20% - Process Improvement: Drives process improvement activities for end to end processes. Works cross-functionally to identify process opportunities, develops plan, drives implementation and measures results.

  • 10% - Cross Functional Support: Supports other tasks and duties as business needs dictate.

NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to the Sr. Director of HR Operations.

This position has 5 direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 10 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
